The summer of 2017, the scene yesterday outside the gallery, good painting weather but what a disappointing summer so far. Lets hope there's an Indian summer on the way for Feb and and March.
Petone Wharf
Have started painting in preparation for the first exhibition 'Petone by the Sea' Naturally the first had to be of my favourite subject - Petone Wharf - it's so inspiring in all light and moods and different angles, This one is based on a photo I took this autumn, similar yet different to a fav I did several years ago. I might even dig out a few historic B&W photos to paint the wharf from.

Just finished, went for a storm walk along Petone beach this morning, invigorating and inspiring - seagull wasn't really that keen to pose but went in anyway.

Recently finished and heading for
Kiwiarthouse, tomorrow together with the Petone Beach storm painting, to make a storm pair. If you've never been to Kiwiarthouse before, it's right at the top of Cuba Street, be sure to introduce yourself the friendly Alan, he might even be hanging out for a coffee at Martha’s Pantry, right next door.
