All materials supplied, just turn up empty handed and they leave 2 hours later with their own completed watercolour painting which they'll be so proud of and a smile of creative satisfaction on their dial.
This art class could be one of the most rewarding and satisfying activities youth could do these school holidays. Drop your kids off at Petone's Artspace Gallery and while you head off for a coffee morning, we'll guide them through painting their own watercolour painting that they'll be so soooo proud of.
There will be several courses available these school holidays to choose from, catering for younger artists in the morning and teens in the afternoon, (there will however still be flexibility too to allow siblings to paint together if desired). Each class is two hours and the cost of $25 includes all materials, generously subsidised by Watercolour New Zealand. Just turn up empty handed and pick up your child again two hours later with their completed watercolour painting to be proud of and a smile of creative satisfaction on their dial.
The morning class suitable for ages 7 to 12 and afternoon classes for teens. No previous art experience is required - these workshops are suitable for both beginners and more experienced watercolour artists who would like to fine tune their skills and style. Don't worry about drawing as this will already be done for you to enable us to focus on the joys of watercolour painting.
Your tutor for this workshop will be Alfred Memelink, gallery owner and artist who has specialized in watercolours for over 30 years. Alfred has a lot of experience in teaching watercolour techniques and very skilled with sharing his knowledge with you in clear and simple ways.
If you happen to know of any youth who you think would like to attend one of the youth classes but can't afford the $25 youth cost, a generous benefactor has approached the gallery willing to sponsor them. She was once an orphan herself and has been very grateful for similar sponsorship she received as a youth and would now like to return this gift to someone else. Please email us for further information.
All materials supplied, just turn up for the class and leave two hours later with a completed painting and a smile of creative satisfaction on your dial.
